An endodontist is a dentist who specializes in diagnosing and treating problems involving the dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of teeth. After completing dental school, endodontists receive additional advanced training focused on root canal treatment, endodontic retreatment, endodontic surgery, dental trauma, and the diagnosis of complex dental pain.Endodontists are experts in saving natural teeth. Using specialized training, advanced technology, microscopes, and CBCT imaging, they are able to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the inside of the tooth with a high degree of precision. In most cases, patients will need to return to their general dentist for placement of the final restoration, such as a permanent filling or crown, to protect the tooth and ensure long-term success.Our office remains available to answer questions and provide follow-up care if needed.
